Photo Session of Your Hunt and Your Dog at Dorchester
|
If you own a lab, a pointer or a golden (or two or
three), you understand the bond a dedicated hunter has with his dog.
At our house, they're our pets but they're also my husband's best friends,
spending time with him outdoors and getting just as excited as he does about
any day spent outside training or hunting. If you'd like to document this
occasion (and what hunt isn't an occasion to a dog!), the best option is the
Full-Day Photo Book Package.
Photo Book Package.................$500
Includes: Full-day of photography services, an online proof gallery, and a
20-page hard-back coffee table book of your day.
** Additional pages available for your book at an
additional cost. Additional copies of your book are $100 each, plus the
cost of additional pages, if any.

The
photographer will meet you at Dorchester before the hunt to get to know your
dog and capture some images of the excitement before your party leaves out
for the shoot. This high-energy time is followed by photos of the ride
(unless your dog is in the dog box, of course), and more photos when you hit
the ground to get started.
What follows then isn't an exact science, but will probably include your
dog making a brilliant retrieve, showing off their "I can point too!"
skills, and a happy owner accepting the bird from the dog. Might also
include photos of a mud-bath swim in a ditch, and lots of images of running,
ears up, tongues out and hearts beating wildly. Oh, and smiling dog owners
too.
Back at the Lodge, we'll calm things down a little and make sure we got the
basic shots. A portrait of the dog and his primary people. Casual shoots
of the guys gathering around and relaxing after a day in the field.

FAQs about Dorchester Photo Shoots |
 |
How many photographs will I get?
It's impossible
to say exactly what will happen, as the weather, the birds and the dog all
effect the outcome. But the camera will be clicking away all day. At
least 500-600 images will be taken. You'll likely end up with 50-100
photos that you'll really love from the day. |
How can I get individual prints of the
photos?
Savannah Photos will set up an online proof gallery of your photos.
Professional quality prints can be ordered here or, if you prefer, Savannah
Photos can place the order for you, and manage any cropping issues that may
arise from printing different size images of your photos.
Will the photography interfere with my hunt?
It's possible, but that's up to you. The photographer
can be as unobtrusive as possible, documenting your day with little
interruption. However, many people like to take the approach that the day is
about getting some good photographic shots of their dog.
It's easy,
easy, easy to take photos of your back as you walk through the brush with your
dog. It's a little more tricky to get in front or to the side for a much better
photograph. As the photographer's first goal is to not get shot, then get a
great shot...we may set some shots up so we can get a good image, in a safe
manner. But again, that's up to you. (And how well you shoot!)
What if I don't want the Photo Book? Just the
Photos?
For $350, you can have the
day-in-the-field photography session. You'll get the on-line proof gallery and
the ability to order any of the prints you like. You just won't get the book.
Change your Mind?
Books can be made later from the images at $150 for the first 20-page book.
Additional copies of the book (with no changes) are $100 each. This service is
available for up to one year after your photo session.
